Excellent experience with Dr. Press!
I was pretty impressed with the office. Clean, spacious, and receptionists were accommodating, courteous and professional. Dr. Press was welcoming and knowledgeable. I did not feel hurried through my visit. His PA Nancy, was friendly, courteous and personable. The x-ray technician was patient, friendly and professional. Overall, I was happy for the recommendation to this office and satisfied with my visit.

Dr Press, correctly diagnosed my injury before MRI and walked me through everything and his staff was just as professional and took tge time to make sure i understood eveything. Whole staff was absolutely amazing and took care of all my needs and can’t wait for surgery to get my bicep repaired and have a full recovery. Well surgery went perfectly, no post surgical pain which was not expected and recovery was super easy. If you follow your doctor’s orders and be diligent on your PT everything goes as smooth as silk. I am back to work but still following protocol and expect to be back to my normal self soon. Thanks for everything and I highly recommend Dr Press and his staff!

Was pleased with the total amount of time from getting X-rays to seeing Dr. Press that it took for the appointment. Dr. Press was very professional and understood my issue and provided assurances that the condition was not serious and that the soreness I experienced would take some time to heal. Dr. Press is wonderful. He is personable, professional, and a gifted surgeon. He performed a full replacement of my left shoulder in Sep 2018 and my right shoulder in July 2021. Both shoulders are doing extremely well. As a result I have experienced no pain and have regained full function of both shoulders. I am able to do pretty much anything I want including routine, daily gym workouts. Dr. Press gave me the quality of life I need at age 79. I most highly recommend Dr. Press for your orthopedic needs.

My experience with The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics was excellent. The check-in process was automated -- very quick & efficient. The wait was no more than 15 minutes. Got an x-ray and spoke with Dr. Press. He is brilliant, highly skilled and delightfully funny! He did my shoulder replacement a year or so ago. I have no scar and the replaced shoulder is stronger than my natural one. The surgery was like a refreshing nap. I went home the same day. I highly recommend him!
Last year Dr press operated on my right shoulder and it recovered flawlessly. I won't be lifting my normal big three weight amounts, but he sure has fixed a lot of issues.
In January I had my left operated on with a slightly more severe problem, again flawless work. Adding that to an amazing physical therapist team my ROM is 100% able to get back into weight training.
Dr Preston his entire team are clearly one of the most talented orthopedic surgeon teams in the Nova area. I would send anybody looking for friendly service and bedside manner, top level ability to actively listen, and the skills to really change people's lives in eliminate lots of pain.

Had issues with my right shoulder and arm, Dr Press was patient and explain my options and we decided that PT was the best option and after doing the treatments and follow up with Dr. Press my mobility is much better now, Dr Press was kind and understanding and answered all of my questions. I would recommend Dr. Press for any orthopedic issues you may have.
I can’t say enough good things about Dr.Press and his team. I recently had a reverse total shoulder replacement done by Dr. Press. Frankly, my shoulder was a disaster. Dr. Press performed a flawless surgery with excellent results. My postoperative recovery was complete and unremarkable. Couple that with wonderful, compassionate and professional professionals, and you have a perfect “recipe” for a five star review. Would give more if possible.

Dr. Press gave me the use of my right elbow back. Although he is a surgeon, he went through step by step procedures including PT and shots before he mentioned surgery. I am still a bit sore when I overdo it, but I am forever grateful to him and his staff for the excellent bedside manner, surgery, and support.

I visited Dr. Press after 6 months of tennis elbow pain. The office took some delightful x-ray imaging and Dr. Press was able to diagnose and fix my elbow same day!! It was magical. I just needed a few shots in my elbow and now it is moving as easily and as pain free just like a newborn baby!

Could not be happier with my experience with Dr Press so far. After undergoing treatment on my shoulder for over a year, Dr Press just conducted a total shoulder replacement surgery on my left shoulder in February. I am already extremely pleased with the resulting relief of arthritic pain and progressing through recovery/rehabilitation. Dr Press and Physician Assistant Brandi Fossum are the epitome of class and professionalism in surgical care, have remained in constant contact and communication throughout the entire process, and reflect the knowledge and caring that the medical community should strive to be. I owe them both a great deal of thanks.
After incurring a broken humerus from a fall this summer, I sought the expertise of NOVA Orthopedic. My son had been seen a number of times by another physician there, so I had complete confidence in the practice. After my initial consultation, I knew that I was in good hands with Dr. Press. He explained everything completely, gave me best options moving forward and did so with great care and concern. My particular injury required the bone to be grafted and my shoulder replaced. I was told by Dr. Press that it was a challenging repair, but I was confident that I would regain my mobility. My surgery for a Complete Reverse Shoulder Replacement and humerus repair went extremely well! I felt very little pain post surgically and my recovery has been a breeze. I credit Dr. Press, his surgical team and PT with such a great outcome! It's rare to find a doctor/surgeon who can connect personally with a patient and offer such a high quality of medical care! Highly Professional and Caring Doctor
and Surgeon Very thankful that I was referred to Dr. Press after being treated for months with injections and PT without a diagnosis by another doctor. Dr. Press immediately ordered an MRI and diagnosed my problem. He was very thorough in explaining my injury, options, and expected outcomes if I did or did not elect surgery. He thoroughly explained the surgical and post op procedures and post op requirements. He took time to address my questions and concerns. His online resources and a booklet he provided were very useful. Dr. Press' professionalism, upbeat and caring personality, and his honesty all played a major role in my decision to have rotator cuff repair surgery. Looking back five months ago to my date of surgery, I can say that Dr. Press was right on all accounts regarding what I could expect. If I have future shoulder problems, I will definitely seek care from him. I would highly recommend him to anyone who requires shoulder care. My thanks and appreciation to him and his staff.

I've had three shoulder surgeries. Dr. Press did the most recent one, and what a difference! The result was fantastic! Unlike the previous surgeries, I healed quickly and without any complications. Dr. Press was highly knowledgeable, caring, and (obviously) a great surgeon. He knows his stuff!! Thank you Dr. Press!!!

After a not so great visit with another Ortho doc I met with Dr. Press in reference to a torn distal biceps tendon. He was incredibly informative, kind and reassuring. Was very clear about the options available.
Left Shoulder Surgery
As a field case manager for workers compensation, I get to meet lots of providers. Dr. Press was one them. I had an issue with my left shoulder in 2017 and was evaluated by another provider who was knowledgeable, but not pleasant. My shoulder issue returned in August 2021, so I saw Dr. Press. At the first appointment, I had an x-ray and Dr. Press evaluated me and took the time to talk with me about the issues. An MRI was recommended as this was the second issue with this shoulder. I had surgery on 10/28/2021. Dr. Press was very attentive and had a great bedside manner. Brandi, his NP was also the same. The physical therapists were also awesome. I had my second follow up appointment on 1/31/2022. I have no pain, full range of motion and no longer need physical therapy or have a follow up. I have recommended him to friends and colleagues. I will definitely return to him in the future. The only way I will not is if he retires which will make me really sad. Thanks Dr. Press!
Dr. Cyrus Press has never operated on me but had consulted for me when I had a level 2 tear on my ACL. His 2nd opinion was very helpful and the exercises he gave me were essential to my recovery. As an avid athlete (hockey/tennis/running), I was back at it within 3 months.

I had a total shoulder replacement done. I want to thank Dr. Press and his team for the outstanding job on my shoulder. Dr. Press explained all options and risks involved with the procedure. He did not pressure me into the surgery which I appreciated. It’s been 12 weeks today that the surgery was done and my shoulder is great. I’m further along than what my therapist thought I would be and everyone is happy ( myself included) about my results at this time. Still have more therapy to do. I will update at a later date. I would definitely recommend Dr. Press and his team. You guys are awesome.
Dr. Press was great! He was very good at explaining what was going on with my injury, and what we needed to do to fix it. He was easy to speak with, and made me feel very comfortable with his ability to fix me. The staff worked quickly to get me in and the surgery went very well. Post Op, the physical therapy sessions were easy to schedule and the program I was put on kept my recovery on schedule. MIndy and Deanna were awesome making sure I kept on schedule with exercises at home and in house. Would recommend this facility to anyone.

I had a great experience with Dr. Press. Beyond the Dr. skills, he is someone you can talk with and he listens. My experience with the surgery to repair my rota-tor cuff and severely damaged bicep tendon could not have been better. I was one of the last surgeries pre-COVID-19 shut down. I had to be moved from two facilities and to have the surgery. His team worked hard to be certain I could get the surgery and that I was informed. From the first visit (diagnosis) through the surgery, his team communicated with insurance to insure approvals were in place. It was great peace of mind knowing the surgery was approved. Initially, the bicep tendon was not approved, but after surgery he submitted immediately to insurance to this repair approved. Thank you Dr. Press and team.
Excellent Doctor and facility! Had shoulder/bicep surgery for a labral tear and 6 weeks later feel absolutely wonderful. More range and mobility and almost little to no pain can't wait to see how things progress as the healing process continues. Major difference then when I went in. Couldn't have asked for anything better!

I had what more than one surgeon described to me as the worst shoulder they'd ever seen: from a general propensity to arthritis and a decades of playing tennis four to five times a week, leading to rotator cuff surgery a number of years ago, I not only had zero cartilage but also much of the bone the socket goes into had worn away, spewing bone clips all over the place. I could raise my hand only a few inches above my shoulder. I researched the surgeon for my surgery carefully, reading lot of reviews. I also was lucky to have a colleague who had a relative in Dr. Press' office, who described how careful he was during surgery to do minimal disturbance of muscles and other internal things. And so it was. I had zero pain post-surgery - I didn't need a single pain med. I went to rehab a couple weeks after surgery and there was another client who had had the same surgery close to the same time I did. He was younger than I am (I'm 73) and fairly fit. But he related to me significant pain post-surgery and how he was relieved to have had his staples out. He had gone to the local surgeon near my house, where just about everyone here goes (Dr. Press is about an hour from where I live). I felt a bit awkward telling him that I had been pain free and that Dr. Press does not use staples or even exterior stitches: just internal, dissolving stitches and glue to hold the outside skin together. Now, six weeks post surgery, my shoulder feels pretty much like a normal non-operated-on shoulder and my range of motion is good. I look forward to playing tennis again about three months post-surgery.
Is what I’ll give to Dr Press and his team. I had a rotator cuff almost completely torn off. I didn’t know how bad it was just excruciating pain and discomfort. When I first saw Dr Press he said probably surgery, I didn’t like him as much but he had a very professional and empathetic demeanor about him which encouraged me to trust him; fast forward 10 weeks, I have well about 75% of mobility restored to my shoulder even though it’s still not fully healed. Still about 5-6 weeks to go.
Very pleased with my overall experience. I had my calcification of tendons in my shoulder and a repair of the rotator cuff. Dr. Press diagnosed and repaired the issue and now I am pain free. The scars left were minimal and my recovery time was very short. Throughout this entire process Dr. Press and team very attentive to my patient needs and answered all my questions. I had such a great experience with Dr. Press and team I referred my father-in-law who had been suffering from a similar issue for years... After a visit with Dr. Press for a consult, he is also now recovering from his surgery to repair detached bicep tendons. From the point of diagnosis to my day of surgery Dr. Press and staff were the best and I would recommend them to anyone living with shoulder pain/ issues.
Dr Press is a very kind and honest doctor. Always listens to your opinions and questions and answers without hesitation. My shoulders condition happened in a matter of months. Dr Press explained in detail prior to the surgery as it was alot to understand. I had frozen shoulder so physical therapy started 2 weeks after surgery. Three months later I am using my arm more than I ever thought. His assitant Brandy, was thoughtful and took every call with my concerns. Dr Press and his team do great work during and post surgery. Meeting Dr. Press for the first time was like seeing an old friend after many years. He was very glad I stopped by, was genuinely concerned with how I was doing, and made me feel like we'd known each other forever. After reading my chart, checking my x-rays (taken by his attentive and competent staff 10 minutes after I arrived at the office), asking me specific questions about the location and severity of the pain in my arm/elbow, he was able to diagnose the problem and immediately recommend focused stretches for pain relief, and discussed possible treatments should the pain persist or worsen. I was impressed with his knowledge on my specific ailment, and that he took the time to explain the treatment options in hoping to avoid eventual surgery. I chose Dr. Press because of this surgical prowess (as recommended by a doctor friend of mine who had Dr. Press surgically repair his shoulder) but I'm just as impressed that he's he working to help me avoid surgery if that's even possible!

Dr. Press does not use staples: just internal, dissolving stitches & glue to hold the outside together. Now, 6 weeks post surgery, my shoulder feels like a normal non-operated-one and i look forward to tennis about 3 months post surgery.
I found Dr. Press by looking at reviews of shoulder specialist in the Woodbridge area and scheduled my first appointment. I already knew going in, that I needed rotator cuff surgery but did not realize it was going to be such a long recovery. Dr. Press reassured me and said if I do the exercise daily, I will see the results in my normal activities. He was always very honest and took his time to answer all my questions. In my first appointment after the surgery he explained the procedure in a way that I was able to understand and recommended I start physical therapy (PT). Over the past 6 months of having PT, I had no problems scheduling my appointments at the time that fit my schedule becasue I always booked early. I would highly recommend Dr. Press for any future shoulder operations.
Can’t say enough good things about Dr. Press and his staff. I just had surgery done on my shoulder to repair multiple tears and will be in physical therapy at his office for the next 2 months. He did a phenomenal job on my surgery and he really makes you feel cared for. He’s definitely a doctor who truly loves his job and I highly recommend him to anyone that has shoulder injuries.
I had a total shoulder replacement done. I want to thank Dr. Press and his team for the outstanding job on my shoulder. Dr. Press explained all options and risks involved with the procedure. He did not pressure me into the surgery which I appreciated. It’s been 12 weeks today that the surgery was done and my shoulder is great. I’m further along than what my therapist thought I would be and everyone is happy ( myself included) about my results at this time. Still have more therapy to do. I will update at a later date. I had a reverse shoulder replacement done by Dr.. Press. Dr Press is not a good surgeon, he is a great surgeon. He understands your concerns, give you expert advise, and allows you to decide what option of service you would like to receive. Dr Press is a very kind and honest doctor. Always listens to your opinions and questions and answers without hesitation. My shoulders condition happened in a matter of months. Dr Press explained in detail prior to the surgery as it was alot to understand. I had frozen shoulder so physical therapy started 2 weeks after surgery. Three months later I am using my arm more than I ever thought. His assitant Brandy, was thoughtful and took every call with my concerns. Dr Press and his team do great work during and post surgery. I came from out of state to do my surgery as Dr Press is a true skilled professional doctor. I highly recommend him.
My Mother had rotator cuff surgery performed by Dr. Press on 9/24/20. While he was performing the surgery, he also noticed that my Mother had a torn tendon in her bicep and he decided to fix that as well. Many friends had told my Mother that she would be in a lot of pain afterwards. She proceeded to use an ice machine that targets the shoulder area for a month. Now, she is in her 3rd week of physical therapy and feels great! Thank you for having the "hands of God" while taking care of my Mom! Wonderful surgeon! i was having problems with pain in my left shoulder, I was referred to Dr. Press by my daughter in law who is a nurse anthsiology. I seen Dr. Press and I had been to physical therapy and then he gave me an injection in the shoulder which lasted about a week or so with pain again. Dr Press then sent me for an MRI which found a tear in rotor cuff and arthities. Dr Press said that I needed surgery but he explained the whole process and recovery time. Then he ask me what I wanted to do. I did have surgery and then physical therapy and now Dr. Press has released me after 3 months. I was very impressed by Dr. Press in the way he explains everything before he takes any action and you tell him what you want to do. No problems with surgery. Dr. Press is an excellent shoulder doctor. If I had problems again I would definetly go back to Dr. Press. I have complete confidence in his skills as a surgeon. I would also recommend him to my friends if one needed to see a shoulder doctor. Dr. Press is definetly the BEST.
Wonderful surgeon. Did rotator cuff and bicep repair on me. 11 days after surgery, I was starting P/T. Now at 3 months and 2 weeks post surgery, I'm doing so many things that I couldn't do before surgery. I'm still in P/T and I take care not to strain it, but the improvement is wonderful. Between Dr. Press and Village Therapy, I'm on my way to a pain free life, with an arm I can use.

Dr. Press was great! He was very good at explaining what was going on with my injury, and what we needed to do to fix it. He was easy to speak with, and made me feel very comfortable with his ability to fix me. The staff worked quickly to get me in and the surgery went very well. Post Op, the physical therapy sessions were easy to schedule and the program I was put on kept my recovery on schedule. MIndy and Deanna were awesome making sure I kept on schedule with exercises at home and in house. Would recommend this facility to anyone.
What can I say that has not already been said about Dr. Cyrus Press. I will add that he is AWESOME. It has been 5 months since my surgery and although I still have another 7 months to have 100% use of my arm I will say that I should have listened to Dr. Press 5 years ago when he recommended surgery. He is a great surgeon and highly recommend him.

I had a great experience with Dr. Press. Beyond the Dr. skills, he is someone you can talk with and he listens. My experience with the surgery to repair my rota-tor cuff and severely damaged bicep tendon could not have been better. I was one of the last surgeries pre-COVID-19 shut down. I had to be moved from two facilities and to have the surgery. His team worked hard to be certain I could get the surgery and that I was informed. From the first visit (diagnosis) through the surgery, his team communicated with insurance to insure approvals were in place. It was great peace of mind knowing the surgery was approved. Initially, the bicep tendon was not approved, but after surgery he submitted immediately to insurance to this repair approved. Thank you Dr. Press and team.
After dislocating my elbow and breaking a bone in the area, the ER Drs. and Dr. Press said my injury was so severe that a steel plate in my arm was necessary but since I am 76, there was no certainty the plate could be attached due to arthritis. Dr. Press was a miracle worker whose skill enabled him to attach the plate and the screws without impeding the movement of my elbow, an initial concern. Five weeks after surgery, I have total elbow mobility, thanks to Dr. Press.
I would recommend Dr. Press. He was able to remove hardware (five screws and a plate) successfully from my elbow from a prior surgery that had occurred fifteen years ago. The hardware had started to cause problems and one screw had come loose. Almost immediately after surgery the elbow worked well and seven weeks later I have full use of the elbow, no pain. He explained everything ahead of time. I would highly recommend him as a surgeon.
I had a catastrophic fall at work on my left shoulder. This shoulder had 3 previous rotator cuff repairs. It wasn’t giving me any trouble until I fell. I had the original surgeon do a repair but it failed. Then I had another surgeon that was going to attempt an allografts. He determined it was too far gone to try and referred me to Dr Press. Dr Press did a Total Reverse Shoulder Replacement. I was quite nervous going forward with this surgery. But as my shoulder was totally useless I had no choice. Dr Press and his team were with me every step of the way. I am now pain free and have complete use of my arm and shoulder. I have very little limited range of motion.
Dr Press and his nurse practitioner was awesome explaining the procedure for my shoulder injury. I would recommend Dr Press to everyone who is experiencing shoulder problems and considering having shoulder surgery.

Dr. Press performed surgery on my rotator cuff (operating on the supraspinatus, subscapularis, and bicep tendon). The surgery was very comfortable and easy from the patient standpoint. Post-op and recovery have been absolutely pain free. On a scale of 0-10, with 10 being the worst, my pain level has been a zero (0). From start to finish it has been an very easy process and Dr. Press and his staff have been great. I highly recommend Dr. Press if you have shoulder pain.
Went to Dr. Press to repair a 1 inch full thickness rotator cuff tear that I had for 10+ years. Dr. Press is just awesome dude. He's really friendly and knowledgeable and I just felt great with my situation being handled by him. Dr Press did a great just with my actual surgery and I'm healing very quickly. HUGE shout out to Dr. Cyrus Press and Dr. Richard Layfield. I had struggled with severe pain during exercise and sleep in my right upper arm for a year due to a calcium deposit in my pectoral/deltoid area that formed after an athletic injury. After trying physical therapy, rest & anti-inflammatory meds without success, surgical removal was the solution. My surgery was at the end of September 2019. At 100 days post- surgery, I am SO RIDICULOUSLY HAPPY with my results. I heeded the instruction Dr. Press gave in regards to acclimating back into my normal exercise regimen. This was key in my recovery. I cannot thank these gentlemen enough. I feel fantastic and am pain-free. I am so very happy.
Dr. Press was fantastic. He repaired a significant rotator cuff tear, as well as bicep, and despite the challenging recovery he prepared me for, it really was not bad at all! Well, that is after the first miserable month in the sling. I also believe the plasma injections he recommended at the time of surgery really help me recover faster then anticipated.

I had bicep tendonesies and rotator cuff surgery on September 12, 2019. When I came to Dr. Press, I could barely use my arm or lift it eye level or even straight up. today is 2 days shy of my 3-month mark and I believe that I have come almost full circle. I am able to life my arm all the way up to the front and side, as well as behind my back, which I could not do. Yes, I still have some challenges moving certain ways but for the most part my shoulder is better than it was 3 months ago. My recovery process seemed to be easy. I handle physical therapy very well and the therapists were surprised that I could do so much, so soon. my range of motion is just about 100 percent compared to 30 percent when they first measured me. I am Very pleased with the work Dr. Press has done and his bedside manner for answering all of my daughter's questions before surgery who is an MA. she is who I rely on when having major surgery because she knows the ins and outs. She trusted him, and he was not hesitant with her in his answering and this gave her as well as me much comfort. I thank the nurse who suggested I get a nerve block although I'm scared of needles. I do feel like I will be back to "normal" over the next 3 months when I go for my final follow up. Thank you, Dr. Press and my daughter, Taiesha the MA, thanks you as well. After performing surgery for rotator cuff and labrum tears, I feel like I have new lease on life! I had a traumatic fracture of the humerus. The head of the humerus was completely off. It was an.extensive surgery and required a plate and screws. Dr. Press performed my surgery and I have excellent results. I was concerned about my recovery because of my age but my healing is complete.My images have been reviewed by other specialists and they are very impressed with the repair.
Dr Press is not only skilled but he also has a wonderful bedside manner. He explains everything in detail, reviews xray images with you, takes the time to explain and teach, and allows for questions. The office staff is excellent and efficient.

Dr. Press is the man! I had a 90% rotatory cuff tear, with a small bicep tendon tear, and Dr. Press did an excellent job in repairing my issues. Dr. Press and his staff was outstanding during my initial visit, surgery and follow on visits. Dr. Press explained in detail my injury, x-rays, MRIs and why rotor cuff surgery was required: and why at my age (80) the recovery time would be a very long process. Dr. Press is one of the most compassionate, knowledgeable, and effective doctors I have ever seen. Before I came to him, my shoulder had constant pain so bad I couldn’t sleep or use it when awake. This really hurt my spirit as well as my body as I’m an avid bowler and thought I had to give up my only hobby and sport that I really loved (and was pretty good at). Dr. Press saw my pain and assured me all would be well after rotator cuff surgery. He certainly was right. I had the surgery 12 weeks ago and with the help of my Physical Therapist, Kelly, I’m about 85% back to where I should be. This may not sound like great progress to some but to me it’s everything. I’m 67 years old and soon plan to get back to my favorite thing....bowling. I thank God I found Dr. Press. He and his staff are what I call A#1 in every aspect of their profession.

I saw Dr. Press for a torn rotator cuff. The surgery went well and I could not have asked for a better doctor and skilled surgeon. I went to Doctor Press because a friend recommended him to me. That friend had another surgeon open him up to operate on his rotator cuff and once he got in there he realized he couldn't do it. After that he went to Dr. Press who was able to successfully operate on him. His shoulder is now fine. I had a 1 inch full thickness rotator cuff tear and Dr. Press did my surgery and did a great job. After only 3 months I'm feeling great and I'm already back to lifting weights and swimming. Dr. Press was very helpful explaining my condition. He suggested trying physical therapy first. That helped but did not cure the problem. Surgery was performed and recovery time was very short. Pain level was minimal due to post care he suggested. I am recommending him highly.
